Superintendent's Message
Akram Zayour Ph.D.
Dear Parents and Students,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. As we eagerly start the beginning of a new academic year, I want to extend a warm welcome to each one of you. This year promises to be filled with great opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have been before! As for the current academic year 2023-2024, the school will focus on the following priorities:
Academic Excellence
We continue to pursue the highest academic standards and have committed ourselves to a rigorous curriculum that fosters inquisitive thinking and intellectual growth. Our teaching staff is hard at work developing meaningful lessons, and our aim, as always, is to provide the best educational experience possible.
Data Literacy and Assessment
In order to better tailor instructiovn to individual needs, we are investing in data literacy training for our teachers. Through a system of ongoing assessments, we will be able to offer more targeted instruction and effectively monitor students’ academic growth over time.
English Learning Proficiency with a Focus on Reading Literacy
We recognize the importance of proficiency in English and reading literacy, especially in our diverse community. Rest assured, we have structured English Language programs, supplemented by initiatives aimed at enhancing reading skills across all grade levels.
Technology Integration
Embracing the modern world, we are excited to further enhance the integration of new technology into our classrooms. From interactive whiteboards to educational platforms, these tools will complement our teaching methods and enhance students’ learning experiences.
Social-Emotional Wellbeing
The emotional and mental wellbeing of our students is a priority. To support this, we have a strong counseling program, mindfulness activities, and community circles to discuss feelings and resolve conflicts. We believe that a strong mind is just as important as a strong intellect.
United Nations Sustainable Educational Goals
This year, we will also be incorporating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into our curriculum.
We look forward to partnering with you as we engage our students in these exciting educational journeys. I encourage each of you to fully embrace this new school year’s opportunities and challenges. Together, we will ensure that your children reach their highest potential.
